Bio

Venial Sin was formed in late 2008. Characterized by a constant variety the music made by Venial Sin accepts influences from different musical contexts and genres having, however, shown an allegiance to Black/Death Metal and to progressive Rock, focusing mainly on the melody of their themes which results on the creation of obscure and captivating atmospheres, creating a 100% original sound, avoiding stereotypes!

In 2009 the band releases WORLD RESET, a 4 track self-released Demo, witch has 3 tracks included on 3 wolrd-wide compilations by Imperative Music. In 2010 they initiated their activity on stage in Porto and in Bragança with the famous Irish band Altar of Plagues and haven’t stopped performing since then, rocking stages in Portugal and in northern Spain.

With a constant support from the audience they won the first prize in a Band Contest in Bragança (2010), and the second prize in the Rock On Contest, in the Side B bar in Benavente (2011).

In September 2011 the band suffered some changes in its formation due to the absence of Nelson Rodrigues, Pedro Cardoso and Luís Lamas who were replaced quickly by Gustavo Gonçalves, Rafael Pinto and Renato Sousa, who immediately showed interest and motivation to be part of Venial Sin.

In the beginning of 2011 they started also projecting and creating their first EP. SPHERE OF MORALITY, was recorded between January and June, 2011 at the Blind & Lost Studios in Stª Marta de Penaguião, and has already been mixed and mastered by Guilhermino Martins. SPHERE OF MORALITY has its release scheduled to February 2012 and then Venial Sin will start another round of gigs in order to promote it.
